LETTERING

• Fabric Adjust automatically changes the column width, underlay, density, and stitch length of letters to suit the type of fabric on which the design will be embroidered. Choose from knit, terry, denim, fleece, and more
• Auto Density automatically changes the spacing between stitches whenever you increase or decrease a letter’s size
• Second Underlay adds another underlay, made with a different type of stitch, for increased stability
• See in 3-D shows designs and lettering in realistic 3-D
• User-definable Grid makes it easy to align lettering. Grid size, as well as its color, can be customized
• Transform Lettering, also referred to as bridging, adapts and conforms lettering to striking, irregular shapes
• Apply Lettering previews lettering as it would appear in different styles of alphabets, with one click of the mouse
• 80 alphabet styles and over 50 preselected stock embroidery designs are included. (The EDS-EZ level includes 25 alphabets)

EDITING

• Expanding Tree Views follows the Windows Explorer ® approach to editing. Clicking on an item reveals its subcategories. This simplifies the selection of areas to change. For example, clicking on wire-frame points produces a list of each point. Also, it shows every single point in a design. EDS IV...xtreme Use EDS IV...xtreme’s 12 premade Pattern Fill effects ––or create your own. Extensive, easy-to-use lettering features. Decorative Stitch facilitates the creation of custom outlining stitches ––15 predefined stitches included. Group Names (for example, clubs and teams) can all be set up in one file, and combined with any design for embroidering.

DIGITIZING

• Wire-Frame Digitizing The Summit Level of EDSIV utilizes Wire-frame digitizing, which permits the creation of designs with geometric shapes that hold all the relevant stitch information. Once these shapes are created, they are easily manipulated using typical drawing tools such as select, drag, scale, and transform. Wire-frame digitizing requires fewer click of the mouse and shows instantly what is happening to your design as you change it. A left click provides a straight point and a right click creates a curved point.
• Pattern Fill repeats simple patterns and even logos within fills to create textured effects. Easily create your own patterns.
• Decorative Stitch facilitates the creation of custom outlining stitches and borders.
• Autoshape tools create perfect circles, squares, stars and other shapes for all stitch types.
• Trapunto Fill creates a light density fill with no under lay or run stitches under the fill. Trapunto is mainly used for shading and decreasing stitch count in designs.
• Random Edge this feature allows the user to specify column edge stitch length for shading purposes and other effects such as creating realistic animal fur and feathers.
