 Problem Solving-Connection Problems

The EverSewn Sparrow X2 sewing and embroidery machine combo was designed to work with tablets and mobile devices that are built on 64-bit architecture. The wireless network must support WiFi 802.11/b/g/n (2.4G HZ).

I keep getting a message on my Android device that it's not compatible with the app, what's wrong?

If you are getting a message that prevents you from downloading the necessary app chances are high that your device runs on a 32-bit architecture. The EverSewn Sparrow X2 App only works on devices that are 64-bit.

Why do I need a 64-bit device?

The reason for this is because in August 2019 Google began enforcing that Android apps be developed on 64-bit devices. The EverSewn X2 went into development after this change took place which is why it has been developed to run only on devices that support 64-bit architecture.

Why does it seem like more Apple devices can connect to the machine?

In 2018 only 36% of the top 40 Android devices were 64-bit capable, which means that if your Android device was made before 2018 there is a strong chance that it won't work with the EverSewn X2. iOS devices have been 64-bit since the iPhone 5 which was released in 2012. This is why the X2 is compatible with more iOS devices.

How do I know if my Android device is compatible?

There are numerous ways to find out if your Android device is a 64-bit device. There are apps like "Device Info: View Device Information” or “AnTuTu Benchmark” that will allow you to see if your existing device is 64-bit.

You can also check the Android kernel version. Go to ‘Settings’ > ‘System’ and check ‘Kernel version’. If the code inside contains ‘x64’ string, your device has a 64-bit OS; if you cannot find this string, then it is 32-bit.

How do I know if an Android device is 64-bit before I purchase it?

For testing purposes, EverSewn uses the Samsung S7 which is a 64-bit device. To find out what other devices are 64-bit we recommend you research your product of choice on the manufacturer's website or contact their customer support.

Why am I having trouble when I try to connect to the router?

Page 50 of the Owner's Manual states: App system requirement: support WiFi 802.11/b/g/n (2.4G HZ). Many routers give the 2.4G and 5G networks the same name. However, your mobile device will connect to the 5G network while the embroidery machine only connects to the 2.4G network. Although these networks have the same name they aren't actually the same network so your devices cannot communicate with each other. We have found success by creating a 'guest access point' under a different name which generally only uses the 2.4G. Make sure that the mobile device is connected to this guest network then go through the connection process. Hold the mobile device over the embroidery arm for a better connection.
